Listed below are some exciting counseling initiatives currently happening in each grade.
5th Grade - 5th grade students will complete 4 different activities on SmartFutures, related to understanding the various career options that are out there, and what types of skills and work habits are needed in order to obtain specific positions.
6th Grade - In addition to 4 different activities on SmartFutures, Junior Achievement BizTown is a popular learning experience offered to all 6th grade students that enables them to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks and vote for a mayor. In doing so, they are connecting what they are learning in the classroom to the real-world.
7th Grade - On top of completing 4 different activities on SmartFutures, our 7th graders will participate in the Junior Achievement YES Program, which is a half-day program that enables young minds to gain appreciation for the importance that financial and career decisions will play in their lives.
8th Grade - 8th grade students, similar to 7th grade students, will also participate in the Junior Achievement YES Program. In addition to this, 8th graders will complete 4 different SmartFutures activities and take a field trip to CPACTC/CTC in Mechanicsburg, PA.
